Mississippi Early Signing Period Update

With the early signing period for hoops winding down the signing scene in Mississippi has taken a sharp turn.
In past years very few Magnolia State seniors have signed early, but this year has seen an increase in early signing activity as six boys and three girls in the Class of 2009 have chosen to take advantage of the early signing period. They are:

Shaunessy Smith, 6-foot-5, WG, Noxubee County H.S., Macon, MS has committed to Mississippi State University but will wait until Wednesday, November 19, his birthday, to actually sign his papers.
Isaiah Canaan, 6-foot-0, PG, Biloxi H.S, Biloxi, MS has signed with Murray State University.
Jontaveous Sulton, 6-foot-7, F, Yazoo City H.S., Yazoo City, MS has signed with Middle Tennessee State University
John David Little, 6-foot-3, WG, Olive Branch H.S., Olive Branch, MS has signed with Middle Tennessee State University
Andre Gowins, 6-foot-8, F/C, Gautier H.S., Gautier, MS has signed with the University of South Alabama
Korey Sanders, 6-foot-7, F, Raymond H.S., Raymond, MS has signed with Alcorn State University
