ICC’s Brinson signs with Valdosta State

Itawamba Community College standout Bernard Brinson has signed with Valdosta State University. The former Florida State signee out of high school in Madison, Florida recently enrolled with the Gulf South Conference school, which means he'll be available for spring drills.
This past season for the Indians, Brinson finished third in the MACJC in solo tackles with 62 in nine games. The 5'11, 185 pound defensive back also had 10 assists and three tackles for losses. In addition, the all-state selection led the team and was among the state leaders in passes broken up with 16, caused a fumble, recovered two of them and also had an interception.
Brinson was one of five ICC players to transfer at the semester break. Indians head coach Jeff Terrill expects more than 10 other members of his 2008 squad will sign later this week as National Signing Day is scheduled for Wednesday.
