Crossroads Camp Standouts

The Crossroads of the South Exposure Camp returned to Ridgeland High School for its third year this past Saturday. A solid group of prospects turned out for the camp, as it continues to build momentum each year, looking to give Deep South prospects a venue to showcase their games. Let's take a look at some of the top prospects on hand.
Roger Woods - 2012 6-foot-4 WF Provine (Jackson, Miss.); Athletic and strong with long arms, Woods displayed a high motor while constantly attacking the rim for strong finishes or dunks. Very good defensively and a strong rebounder. A work in progress on the wing, his jumper needs work but he did show the ability to make the mid-range shot.

Quentarius Porter - 2012 6-foot-5 WF Forest Hill (Jackson, Miss.); A smooth, athletic wing with a silky jumper which he can stick from three point range consistently, showed solid ball handling skills and the ability to score slashing to the rim.
Christopher Bilbo - 2012 6-foot-2 PG Forest Hill (Jackson, Miss); strongly built, athletic and quick point, strong ball handler who gets to the rim for athletic finishes or finds the open man, good defender who plays hard, streaky jump shooter but makes just enough to be a threat.
Kristoff Walker - 2012 5-foot-11 PG McDonogh 35 (New Orleans, Lou.); This very athletic combo guard was the surprise of the camp. A good ball handler who always seemed to be under control, played just as well with the ball in his hands or off the ball. Shot lights out off the dribble or off the catch showing three point range and finished strong at the rim with a number of highlight dunks.
Malik Newman - 2015 6-foot-2 PG/WG Callaway (Jackson, Miss.); Always a headliner at any event he shows up at, Newman did on this day what he does best, score the ball, and though he didn't really dominate in this camp which was full of bigger stronger upper classmen he had a very good day. One trait which really catches my eye about Newman is that no matter how much trouble he has with a defender early on, and there were a few of the upper classmen who gave him a hard time, he adjust and finds a way to score as the game goes along.
Brice Rowe - 2012 6-foot-3 PG Madison Central (Miss.); Long armed rangy point returned to the camp for the third year and continued to show steady improvement in his game. Showed a quicker first step and the ability to get by his defender and get in the lane where he showed a strong left hand on his finishes. Shot the ball well throughout the day and was a strong defender also.
Jeremy Holliman - 2012 6-foot-2 WG Gulfport (Miss.); This active wing had a very good day shooting the ball and attacking the rim on the push. Handled the ball well and made good decisions. Was very good defensively and played hard all day.
Joshua Carroll - 2013 6-foot-2 WG Murrah (Jackson, Miss.); Long armed guard showed a new dimension to his game on Saturday showing the ability to set up others out of his strong dribble game. Shot the ball well but was really impressive running the pick and roll with the bigs. Had a very good day defensively also while still showing the ability to get baskets himself.
[db]Jared Sam[/db] 2013 6-foot-8 PF and Damien James 6-foot-9 PF Scotlandville (Baton Rouge, Lou.); This long athletic pair of forwards possess similar skill sets and games, both are very active around the rim, good finishers and good shot blockers, they both run the floor well and are solid rebounders, James has a little meaner streak which he showed in posturizing a few opponents on the day.
Tracy Hadley - 2013 6-foot-0 WG Pascagoula (MS) H.S.; Smart undersized wing, Great shooter with three point range, good basketball IQ, solid ball handler and passer.
Remond Brown - 2013 6-foot-3 WG Richwood (Monroe, Lou.); extremely athletic wing, good finisher and rebounder, very active, streaky jump shooter. Has a nose for the ball.
[db]Deangelo West[/db] - 2015 6-foot-1 WG Provine (Jackson, Miss.); silky wing who can really shoot the ball, three point range, solid ball handler, has a nice runner in the lane.
Reginald Johnson - 2014 6-foot-3 WF Monroe (LA) Richwood H.S.; Strong bodied forward who has a nose for the ball; good scorer around the rim, very active, strong rebounder.
